DAY 9 12032010- A visit to WuGang Steel Enterprise

Woke up at around 6.30am! Earliest time that I have woke up in Wuhan! Stoned awhile before washing up. Went to meet the guys as usual. Reached our studying blk at around 8.10am and went to the 5th floor to collect the helmets needed for the later excursion; WuGang Steel Enterprise, with the ECE students.

Up the shuttle bus and off to our destination!

It took around 30 minutes before we reached the place. Wore the helmet and one of the person-in-charge gave us a short briefing. Off we go!

Before going in, had a group photo.

Inside the factory was a little stuffy. Saw the machines that are used to make the steel from the raw materials. Saw pieces of steel metal from the hot oven! COOL! Even though we are quite far away from it, we can still feel the heat!
We carry on walking down the lane and the person-in-charge explained how and what for the machines are used for in detailed. The whole process for flattening, cooling the metal only need just one minute! The distance for the whole process is around 1.5km! Took some photos at the enterprise and off we went back to WUST!

On the way back to WUST.

Before having lunch again at Chun Hua canteen, we took some photos.

Fried rice again. :/ Collected laundry too!

IS lesson at 2pm. The teacher taught about the political and the economy system of the republic of China. I think it is a little dry as she just read everything from the slide :/
The class ended at around 4-5pm.

After which, we went out as we wanted to buy mattress due to my friends have blue-black after sleeping on the thin layer of mattress in our hostel. Bought some stationary and water. Can’t find any suitable mattress. Went back to the hostel after that.

Bathed. Ate cup noodles while watching the movie Hell boy 2! Watched half way though. But nevermind, we can continue on other days :D

There is no internet connection in our room! So I’m typing on Microsoft Word L. It had happened for the past two days. Nothing to do with RJ-45, nothing to do with my laptop. It’s the internet’s fault!

Overall, I really enjoyed myself at the steel enterprise as this is my first time experiencing and knew the process of steel-making! Not everyone has a chance to see that! I also got to know a little of the history of china as the lesson is really dry that I cannot concentrate at all. No offence. Hope that the teacher can make the lesson more interesting!
Lastly, the internet connection in the hostel is really cannot make it. It can be connected for the first few days, but I cannot manage to get any internet access. My friends they did not have any connection too. I hope that they can fixed the internet access well as we need the internet to do work and of course to chat/web cam with our family.
